BASKETBALL Our varsity basketball team Won 15 games and lost 7 this year, which was good enough for third place in the county standings. Six members of the team are seniors Which means they will be lost by graduation this spring, but a promising group of underclassmen are coming along to re- place them. For the third consecutive year the Cards won the county tourney. On the opening night of the tourney they defeated Pleasant Mills 39-15, Kirkland 25-22 in the semi-finals Saturday afternoon, and Monmouth 30-24 in the final game Saturday night. The ball used throughout the tourney was given as a trophy to the winning team. Coach Long did a good job in handling the team and is one of the finest coaches Geneva High School has had. Kenneth Teeter served as student manager of the team. 1945-1946 Back Row-R. O. Hunt, Principal, W. Kamman, R. Mathys, W, Hale. J. Penrod, D. Snow, R. Cook, H. C. Long, Coach Front Row-C. Miller, W.
