CLASS PROPHECY One earlx summer day Idecrded to vrsrt my former classmates I regrstered at the beautrful Netherland Hotel 11 New York Crtx V hrle at the hotel l was called rrrto the manager s office vsho was none other than Rooert Flueckrger After hax mg a chat vtrth each other he rntroduced me to hrs pr rx ate se retarx Margaret Scott A spar klrng rrng on her finger cld me thcv ware engaged The tolloyx mg day I was entertarned rn the home ot a broker who was Roland Clrne He seem d to lrke speculatron very much I met hrs vtrte forrnerlx M ss Ruth S'auffer and therr srx chrldren who were berng ably cared for bx Vrrgrnra Srelschott It was rn Trenton New Jersey wh1le vrevxrng the crty that I saw the magnrflcent Trrnrtv Methodrst Church There were numerous 'rutomr brlcs parked near the huge struc ture so mx currosrtw told me to rnxestrgfrte As I cpcned the door I was surprrsed to meet Fugene Haxrland and Vrrgrnra Brough They had just exchanged vows I wrshed them lots of happrness and entered the vestrbule ct the church yxherc I was greeted by Rex Floyd Zurcher and hrs wrfe formerly lVIrss Wrlma Bollrnger 'lhex had been blessed 'Whrle rn Herslru Pcnnsxlxanra I stopped to cxamrne the huge Hershey Chocolate Manufacturrng Company The manager Mater Roth showed me the entrre plant whrch employs approxrmatelx two thousand people Glancrng at the pretty stenographers I saw Mrnnre Sterner and Dorothy Hrrschy We went to the Bcllsrde Inn lor drnner I was pleased to meet the owner lames Wheeler who was managrng the respectable restaurant The food was xerv delrcrous and wholesome It had been prepared by the dretrcran Flor ence McCollum I had a bv ret x lS1t wrth her She told me that Irene Mathys and Dorothy Robrnson were gorng places as a tap dancrng team The 7oo rn Crncrnnatr Ohro was my next rnterval of rnter est It vs as a surprrse to see Luther Burrv actrng as one or the chref an1mal trarners He promptly rntroduced me to hrs wrfe who was forrr-erlx MISS Kathleen Fennrg Ilearned that the Burrv chrldren were properly cared for by Erma Mrller In a large Crncrnnatr Book Concern I was greeted by Neva Harshbarger and Iulmrra Kraner wh,o were employed as clerks MISS Harshbarger rnsrnuated that I purchase some pretty brown booklets rn whrch were some of her clever maxrms I bought several of them and then proceeded on mx Journey Upon my arrrval rn Fort Wayne I rmmedrately went to the Shrrne Audrtorrum where I was greeted by Loretta Booher an accordrcnrst and'V1ola Stanley soprano solorst rn Walter Zuercher s Band After the concert Icongratulated them for therr fine performance Berngxery trred physrcally Iplanned to return to the Keenan Hotel However I couldn t remember just what happened to me When I awoke wrth a severe headache I saw Dr Dwrght Sprunger grxrng me medrcal attentron He told me that I must remarn rn the Lutheran Hosprtal for several days and that durrng my convalescence I would be cared for by Clara Prror After my release from the Lutheran Hosprtal I returned to my home rn Berne and resumed my wx ork as foreman of the Frnrshrng Department at Smrth Brothers Furnrture Marufacturrng Company Aurriorr UNKNOWN Fourteen , 1 A , K 1 A. 1. 1 L r .
