As a class and individually, we have contributed much to our school. We started a precedent with our trip to Washington. Our football team was the first to place in the Little Seven in five years. Our sensational Prom “Off Shore” and the party afterwards created a bigger stir than any recent social event. We won our first float competition in our Sophomore year with'Cage ’Em, ’ and repeated in our Senior year with “Blast ’Em.” Mary Liden was our Queen after being an attendant for three years. Kay Achenbach took over the job of attendant for her Senior year. Our class plays “Snafu” and “Our Hearts Were Young and Gay” were universally hailed as the greatest one-night stands in Geneva. We are proud of our record. Let us hope that we can all do as well individually in the years to come. _L 1 Kay Achenbach President of Class 1, 2; Representa- tive of Class 4; President of French Club 4; Secretary-Treasurer of Stu- dent Council 4; Class Play 3, 4; Homecoming Attendant 4; French Club 3, 4; Student Council 1, 2. 4; Gccohi Life 4; Co-Editor of Annual 4; CAA 1, 2, 3, 4; Pep Club; Chorus 1. Plans for the Prom were started early which helped to make it a great success. Our Junior Class Play was also another step to more achievement for us. Our class has always been active in school activities. We have contributed by participating in Homecoming, school dances, and Student Council activities. We took second place last year with our Homecoming float. So, all in all, our Junior Class has made a success in all we have attempted, and we are enthusiastically looking for- ward to another big year as Seniors. It seems to be a tradition for th Freshmen to win the magazine drive, and that we did. It is likewise a tradition to lose in the Sophomore year, and that we did also. Our float record is steadily growing better. From a tie for third place in our Freshman year, we elevated ourselves to second place in 1954 with the theme “De-Feet.” With the good athletic record of our Frosh-Soph years, we are bound to have good varsity teams as upperclassmen. We are looking forward to our Junior and Senior years and are determined that they be as successful as our first two years in Gecohi. To prove what a big, brave class we were, we stepped in and overpowered the Sophomores by winning the magazine drive. Our float turned out fairly well this year although Judy Rockafellow’s folks had to put up with the usual hullabaloo that goes hand-in-hand with any float project. When basketball season rolled around, we were able to boast of a very high rating in the Little Seven Conference. Also, the girls were able to survive G.A.A. initiation and go on to contribute much to the Monday night basketball games. Our Freshman year was a fine introduction to high school life, and we are eager to find out what the next three years will hold for us. TRACK ART “DIVERSIFIED” STUDENT COUNCIL Under the able leadership of Ralph Hillquist, President; Bob MacNeille, Vice President; and Kay Achenbach, Secretary-Treasurer; the Student Council has greatly increased its scope of activity. Each member has participated in planning many of the activities and events around Gecohi. A list of these might include Homecoming, basketball coatroom, the parking lot, graduation exercises, and many other accomplishments. Geneva was responsible for the Tri-Cities dance held on March 5 and also took an active part in district and state Student Council conven- tions. Also originated by the Council was Twirp Week, held this spring. Considering these projects, it is evident that this has been a successful season for the Student Council. §) FRENCH CLUB LIBRARY CLUB PEP CLUB G.A.A.
