success and Joanne would soon be up and well agann Frank took down nnformatnon for another story as she dnsclosed to hnm that Lelna Myers, one of thenr very effncnent nurses had slnpped on a rug Mary Lou had ordered for the hospntal lounge Mnss Myers had knocked out a tooth and as a result was sunng the manufacturer for damages Frank had asked to see her and Mnss Jeppe dnrected hnm to one of the offnces,where Mnss Myers sat nntently lnstenung to the radno What are you lnstennng to? he asked Oh she declared Emma Jones who ns snngnng and also playung the guntar ns competnng agannst Ellen Westlake snngnng at the pnano,on a cross country talent program The wnnner wnll get a years contract to appear as guest star every week Suddenly the door opened and nurse Mary Jean Hagler stepped nn trnp east and decnded to stop and renew old acquanntances wnth our former students they sand Jnm whnspered to John that he was havurng a surprnse party for the Shermans after the program and nnvnted them all to come Thenr attentnon was suddenly dnverted by a famnlnar looknng woman weavung nn and out among the patrons super vnsnng the handlnng of all the hor deuvres that were served They dnscovered nt was none other than Nancy Stnffleg who had become qunte a noted cateress,servnng anythnng from Congressnonal dnnners to Hollywood celebrnty luncheons She sand that she owed much of her success that nnght to Irene Catano who as chnef cook possessed a very famous secret recnpe for maknng these refreshments Also she had two assnstants helpnng her Mary Tellep and Pat Sterret home wantnng for them They headed for the offnce where once nnsnde the chnef told them they were to fly to Alaska to learn whether Barbara Gleason had vnsnted Barbara Ott who owned a whnte fox farm there
