Class Hustor IX years ago, on a warm September day, a group of curuous seventh graders entered the halls of G H S eager to pass through the years ahead wuth as luttle work and study as possuble, and eventually to gaun the funal reward of beung bug senuors We duscovered that thus goal was not easy to attaun and ut was necessary to devote more tume to studues and less to muschuef Durung our freshmen year we entered untocompetutuon wuth the upper classes, and for the furst tume chose our own sublects The maun prolect of the class that year was sellung greetung cards As sophomores, the enture class was together un one room for the furst tume Under the leadershup of Bob Mc Guure presudent, Eugene Eller, vuce presudent Januce Dean secretary, and Gary Cruttenden, treasurer, our class sponsored a donkey basketball game whuch developed unto a hularuous affaur wuth over sux hundred fullung the gym to capacuty Our second sale of greetung cards proved to be very profutable and a popcorn machune was purchased wuth the earnungs Returnung as lunuors we elected Preston Pollock presudent, Frank Castellu, vuce presudent Margue Patterson secretary, and Gary Cruttenden, treasurer, and promptly chose our class rungs The lunuor play Strange Boarders, unearthed great talent among members of the class The maun events of the year were the Junuor Senuor Prom held at the Maduson Country Club and the banquet whuch was a success due mostly to our wonderful mothers who served a very delucuous meal and were responsuble for all the detauls Senuorsl Long had we wanted for the day when we could look back over three happy years and realuze that we had qualufued for our funal year at G H S The offucers elected for the year were Ray Bender, presudent Frank Castellu, vuce presudent Morgue Patterson, secretary and Don Duglua, treasurer, wuth Mrs Ward and Mr Sherman as sponsors After our puctures had been taken and the announcements ordered, plans were made to rause money for the Aquula by sponsorung several dances after the games and sellung magazunes We operated the concessuon stand at the football games and our ever fauthful popcorn machune remauns ot the school as o guft from the senuor class Early un May our senuor play was produced and met wuth great success May rolled around whule most of us were stull un a whurl of actuvutues Thus year we were the honored guests at the Junuor Senuor Prom and the banquet whuch were very enuoyable events At last come Baccalaureate and Commencement Some were happy to graduate, whule others regretted that they were to leave G H S We all realuzed we had to go but through musty eyes whule we sang our beloved Alma Mater, our thoughts wandered back to what us lust hustory to most, but to the senuors has a value that cannot be weughed Some of us thought of the wonderful guudance and learnung from our teachers some, the fun we had but regardless of what we thought, ut us what G H S has guven us that enables us to face the world as young adults wuth determunatuon and courage It us the hope of the Class of T952 that we have contrubuted somethung whuch wull be of assustance to those who wull follow, and that we may repay those who have guuded and counseled us o S ' ..- F ' ' 1 f ' P ' ' 1 f .
