i Li TRIUMPHS • • SPIRIT RAND HONORS STUDENT HANDBOOK PRINTED PAPER SCHOLASTIC EXCELLENCE INCREASED SCHOOL ATTENDANCE The football team this y ear, though not triumphant on the scoreboard, was victorious in another way, They display ed great perseverance coupled with determination, and by so doing, gained the respect and support of the student body. Triumphant in every sense of the word was the G.C.H.S. Marching Bulldog Band. Besides outstanding performances given each Friday night, they also captured top honors at the Southeastern States Marching Band Festival. For the first time in twenty years, the school newspaper, the Ge-Co-Bugle, was printed, and there was also a student handbook. There were shining examples of scholastic excellence, too. The Valedictorian of the senior class achieved a grade point average of 96.19 and the top ten all had averages in the 90's. G.C.H.S. showed an increase in school attendance and while the other county schools were losing teacher units because of low attendance, we maintained our number of teaching units. There were many triumphant times in this school year. Some were the results of group effort, while others were the result of individual effort; but all. both great and small, served to promote a sense of pride.
