— Jr-Sr Prom '79 Sening rhe mood for o dreamy nighr was rhe Junior's goal as they departed school on Wednesday morning on rhe Eievenrh day of April in Nineteen Seventy Nine. As all supplies were being packed into trunks and trucks, Juniors began to realize rhe hard work which toy in store for them during rhe next few hours. After all were safely on rhe roads to Fort Rucker, it was discovered that tensions caused certain drivers to grow lead feet in order to arrive sooner. The Lake Lodge seemed to be rhe perfect spot for dreams to come true. The Lodge was located against a beautiful Lake Tholocco setting that reminded one of rhe dreamy type of horizon as depicted on rhe Prom's rheme design. For rhe young or heart, there was a playground, complete with swings, slide, see saws, and merry-go-round! As decorating rook its roll on rhe Juniors, patience began to thin down and tempers began to rise. Everyone was too intoxicated with excitement to realize rhe extent of their animosity. This intoxication caused dubious reactions by the Juniors toward their efforts at decorating. Out, by 12:30, it was decided that all that could be done, hod been done, so each headed his separate way to make preparations for rhe big nighr our. Thar Wednesday nighr, when people began arriving, rhe moonlight seemed to set off oil rhe Juniors efforts for a successful Prom. The soft pastel colors of blue, pink, yellow, and green helped to highlight rhe Silver Dali. The pictures were taken in front of a beautiful blue fountain surrounded by green plants. Promptly at 8 PM, Vann Outlaw, Junior Class President, gave rhe Welcoming Speech. Do Hatfield, Senior Class President responded with gratitude. Drandy snifters, along with memory booklets, were presented to each Junior and Senior. Turning rhe floor over to rhe band from Enterprise, Exodus, rhe dreamy mood was continued as rhe band dedicated rhe first song, New Orleans Ladies, to rhe Senior Class. As rhe nighr progressed, rhe crowd dwindled, bur a few stayed on to hear rhe last song played. This special nighr when everyone rook their chance to dream will linger in rhe minds of many throughout their years.
