YY -,:,R..' 2? l ' V -V5 v- 7 .I Q We, students of Geneva College, are honored and take deep pride in dedicating the 1963 Genevan to Dr. Johannes Vos, the chairman of our Bible depart- ment. Throughout his service at Geneva, he has shown understanding and inspirational leadership to the many students with whom he has come in contact. In many ways Dr. Vos has influenced our lives by imparting to us the Christian ideals connected with Geneva. As he conducts his classes, his spirit and witty hu- mor keeps his students from the drudgery of a dull class. With his sincere, direct approach to his students, he shares with them a respect for learning as well as the qualities which are essential to make our lives vi- tal. His handling of different situations with intelli- gence and patience have helped us immeasurably. Un- knowingly Dr. Vos has created a warm and lasting impression of himself and his conception of the ideals of education. For these reasons we of the Genevan dedicate this yearbook to Dr. Johannes Vos. DEDICATION

FGRE ORD Time passes. As the years march on, people and places change. As we view this shifting pattern, we are reminded of the many scenes that are so real and dear to each of us. It is to these memories that The Genevan belongs. The Genevan is a memory book, a book that is filled with the events, the friends, the buildings to which we have grown so accustomed. We like to look back on this scene, and in our minds it will never change. We recall happy times: the friendly chats in the Brig and in the Lounge, the many sports events, the holi- day cheer. We remember also the hard work we've done: the all-too-frequent tests, the never-ending number of term papers, those frequent pop,' quizzes. But most of all when we recall these days, we remember the friendli- ness and the school spirit of each Genevan. We hope that this yearbook will bring back many of these warm memories.

Grady Spires Dormitory Coffee Hour. 6 Spiritual Emphasis Week was created at Geneva for the purpose of enhancing the religious life of individ- ual students. The services this year were conducted by the noted Dr. T. Grady Spires. He spoke in chapel, at evening meetings, and held cotlee hours in each of the dormi- tories. He attempted to instruct and inform the stu- dents in all phases of life, acting as counselor, min- ister and friend. In this series of meetings, Dr. Spires placed con- siderable emphasis on the potential influence and lead- ership of the youth of today. He accentuated the ne- cessity for straight thinking and his informal discus- sions added to the understanding of those attending the meetings. We appreciate the efforts of Dr. Spires and Rev. McMillan in creating this opportunity for constructive thinking and spiritual emphasis.
