PROPHETIC LORE Blaise Buffamante's latest play has just' hit Broadway. It stars Alice Dwyer and Bill Carr the team that scored such a success in The Double Life of Little Abner , also written by Mr. Buffamante. Vivian Stewart is flying rare orchids to Mary Hendrick's coming out party. Miss Hendrick came out several years ago but public opinion forced her back in again. Donald Mills, the second Frank Sinatra, found it necessary to have a police escort to his home the other night because of a stampede of girls wanting to get his autograph. We see by the papers that Mary jane Lang has divorced her fifth husband. Mary Boulle has started on her second con- cert tour with her accompanist, Ginny Trader. Miss Boulle's concerts are slightly hampered by the fact that the only thing Ginny can play is Chop-Sticks. Bill Noble, Bob Newton, and Duane Rice have formed a trio and are now singing before the crowned heads of Europe. Much to our surprise George Shreve and Iimrny Young have achieved no small success as ballet dancers. When interviewed the boys confessed this has always been their secret ambition. Iimmy Euchner has become a hermit and is now living in the Adirondacks on nuts and ber- ries. Mr. Euchner, when interviewed, said, I am a man who has been warped by life. Dorothy Whitney, famed traveling sales- woman, has just returned from the Sahara Desert where she was selling copies of Dotty Kornbau's latest book, Gardening at Sea. Iohn Paul Eshbaugh and Robert Rice have just invented a new machine for smashing the atom, but unfortunately the boys have taxed themselves so greatly they have retired to jean Brown's home for the mentally exhausted. lean White is taking Little Flossie's place with Max Rainey and his Hi Boys. Ethel Marks and Esther Little are managers of the Flowerville Dine and Dance Hotel. William Terrell is manager of the Dandy Tri- cycle Company. Rosemary Carpenter is now touring the country with her trained fleas. The eminent surrealist painter, Herbert Yates, has just sold his latest picture, The Left Ear of a Flea, for Sl9,000. Bill Brown, noted lecturer and traveler, from our last reports, has been stranded on a remote island inhabited only by women. just what Mr. Brown was doing on this island and how he came to be there is not disclosed. Ioyce Partridge has been elected the taxicab driver's pin up girl for 1954. Robert Downey, well known playboy, has been confined to his penthouse for a few days because of minor bruises sustained when Mr. Downey tripped over a pretzel on his way home the other night. Theresa Haley and Elaine Greene have re- cently left for Alaska to pan gold. Doris Carey has become a lady life-guard. lean Champ is now proprietor of the famed Stork Club. She has hired Doug Mills to select the chorus girls. Charles Battaglia has at last realized his greatest ambitiong he is part owner of a bur- lesque theater. He is ably assisted by Dave Duggan, costume designer, and Ioe Griffo, dance director. Helen Schirmer has started a nursery school in Cuylerville. Yolanda Chiara is a dancer in Earl Carrol's Review. Esther Pickett is the chief contributor to the Metropolitan Art Gallery. Flame Beam has recently been signed by Barnum and Bailey as their Star Trapeze per- former. She is the second member of the G. H. S. to be so honored. Dotty Wade has already won acclaim with her trained lions. Mary Miller is now on Broadway playing Adie's roll in Mrs. Miniver.
