WARRIORS Left to right: B. Brown, President, D. Wade, Salutatorian, Vice-President, B. Beam, Secretary, Miss Quirk, Advisor, I. Partridge, Treasurer, H. Yates, Valedictorian. THE SENIOR LEGEND Four years ago, sixty-three terrified freshmen entered high school only to be faced with unheard of tortures at the hands of the Seniors. We had been so eager to enter high school that we had overlooked this initiation. At least, we had put it in the backs of our minds for awhile. We must confess, though, that we enjoyed Freshman Week, especially the dance given at the end of the hazing period. We elected lack Barry our president with Mrs. Lloyd Tuttle, our advisor. In our Sophomore year, Paul Cornish was elected president and Miss Mary Quirk, advisor, We sponsored two successful dances, Remember the October Sophomore l-lop and later on a spring dance? That year ten sophomores attended the Brighton Press Con- ference with our chaperon, Mrs. O'Donnell. For the first time, out of eight Varsity players four were sophomores. As juniors, Harold Leighton was elected president with Miss Quirk our reelected advisor. Highlight of the season was our lunior Prom. Because of war restrictions we held it in the gym instead of at Long Point. George Meeker and his orchestra furnished our music. We took the VALLEY ECHOES in our stride too. Aspiring journalists were sent to the Syracuse Conference and to the Rochester Conference, with Mrs. O'Donnell attending both as chaperon. Then we lost three members to the armed forces--Clarence Elam and Ralph Bow to the Army and Bob Burns to the Navy. Our senior year opened to the lusty chant of buy a magazine for the senior class? Oh, yes, we had lots of doors slammed on our aching feet, but it was fun. Our president was Bill Brown and Miss Quirk our advisor. During freshman week we took out of the poor frosh what the seniors four years ago had taken out of us. We repaid them with fun and food at the dance and formal initiation at the end of the week. The senior play, Mrs Miniver was held in December with a record crowd in attendance. Then came the Senior Ball with the University Revelers furnishing the music. This was our gala affair. After it the yearbook reared its head and many hours were spent on it. 'lake Bartholo- mew left for the Navy. Herbert Yates and Dorothy Wade were valedictorian and salutatorian. Now with graduation, our history making in Geneseo High School is at an end. We enjoyed our four year's stay, and most of us wish in a way we could do it all again, 12
