The Dean Of Students As you reach the successful completion of your program at Genesee Community College, I urge you to look back and reflect upon what you have accomplished and upon what you have witnessed. Your most obvious accomplishment is in the academic area. The faculty and stalT share with you a justihable feeling of pride. As a class, you have witnessed the creation of a college. Initially you were observers of this process of development. Quickly, however, you began to participate actively and future generations of students will benefit from your efforts and contributions. The founding of Genesee Community College resulted from the efforts of hundreds of local citizens. Now that you have reached another plateau in your life, I would urge you to consider seriously your obligation to those generations of potential students who will follow you. Locally oriented public higher education is dependent upon the support of every citizen in a particular community. Each of you has the capacity to assume an active roll as community leaders. Through your efforts, colleges will be able to provide for future student generations. I know little in life that can compare with the feeling of satisfaction which one can derive from the knowledge that a job or a task has been done well. Your future will rellect not only your past accomplishments, but more importantly, your continued elTorts. Let me olTer to each of you my sincere wishes for a satisfying future. Congratulations and best wishes, David E. Peters Dean of Students ff ,. W-.

The Academic Dean The commencement exercises of this years graduating class will represent something very special to meg the graduation of students who started at Genesee Community College at the same time I did. It was this group of students who by their interest and enthusiasm for becoming part of the College community, set the pace for future classes. The College's growth and development during these past two years has been nothing short of phenomenal, and the students accomplishments during this period were an integral part of the whole pattern Success seemed to be a part of almost every endeavor the Student Government decided to undertake and the continued growth of the co curricular prdgram clearly attests to the groundwork that this yearis graduating class laid in their first year Success was also earned in the area of academic achievement. They reached the scholastic goals they set for themselves Those same individual characteristics that made this possible will bring future success to those going immediately into the business world as well as to those continuing their education in pursuit of advanced degrees - some with the intention of returning to G.C.C. as part of our instructional To each member of our present student body - but especially to each member of this graduating class - may I extend an invitation to be a part of our fourth annual commencement exercises, which will take place in our new College facility in June. 1972 The College is truly proud of each of you and vie hope that your graduation will not be the end of your relationship with G.C.C but rather the beginning of an on-going alTa1r that will be a mutual source of pride. I sincerely wish each and every one of you a bright and happy future in your chosen fields 21 Sincerely, Stuart Steiner Academic Dean
