' ::t....5g-vt-gm.. --.L-.-gy . 4..- 1- I rv few. -RF rd' egg., Genesee Community College, in only its second year of Intercollegiate Athletics, annexed the 1969 NJCAA Region II Bowling Tournament held on Saturday, April l2 at Hornell Bowl, Hornell, New York. The event hosted by Alfred State College, was a seesaw affair, which saw Genesee, defending champion Erie Tech, and Monroe Community College Trade places fre- quently during the six-game set. Genesee, how- ever was more consistent piling up 5567, a 63 pin bulge over Erie Tech. Monroe linished third with 5456. Seven other teams were represented. Tony Tenebruso of Genesee was the All-Events Champion with a sparkling 1252 for 6 games. Tenebruso and Lou Ferrando finished second in the doubles. Other scores for 6 games were: Tom Fentner with ll54, Dennis Pawlik at ll49, Lou Ferrando had ll0l, Mike Kiel rolled lO98, and Mark Ruger a 967. This team also placed thirteenth in a combined 4-year and 2-year college tournament at Monroe Community College in their only other appearance. . .7 pq G.C.Cfs Kiel, Missing: L. Ferrando. For those students who desire competition in sports, a limited program of activities was held this past year. Games were played in the late afternoon and early evening in the local Junior High School. Leagues in basketball and bowling were formed and many boys participated. Twelve basketball teams made up two divisions, play olTs were held, and a champion determined. The menls bowling league consisted of fourteen teams. Team and individual trophies were awarded to the winners at the conclusion of the league. A Womenls Recreation Association was formed under the direction of Miss Dolores Chiocco.
