CAPTAIN BAKER Captain Duncan Scott Baker, commanding officer of the STURGIS since her commission- ing, has had 25 years seafaring experience. From ordinary sea- man on a four masted schooner he rose to be master of many merchant ships, and is in com- mand of his second Navy vessel. Lookouts know of his keen vision, and his navigational and ship- handling decisions are quick and expert. He is married and has a peace time residence in Florida.
