Our three office secretaries, Mrs. Gittleman, Mrs. McGrath, and Mrs. Rode are always involved in each day's important activities. Though invariably buried in heavy loads of work, they are ready with a smile to offer assistance to all comers . As our roving secretary, Mrs. Gittleman helps Mr. Enderle, Mr. McDonald, and many students and teachers. She has come to the assistance of even yearbook editors and advisers. No wonder, we all think she is one of our kind friends in the office. As the latest addition to our office staff, Mrs. McGrath has quickly found a niche in our hearts. We appreciate her ever-ready helping hand. Everyone in our school knows that Mrs. Rode is indebted to the telephone company, for without the little instrument she would have no job. Can you imagine all our sick students not receiving that ex- pected soothing call? How many of you have ever missed that call when you were ill? Mrs. Rode's pleas- ant disposition makes her the ideal choice for our Girl Friday . Without these three amiable and capable secre- taries, our school would not function. Therefore, we offer our appreciation and thanks to them. Mrs. E. Gittleman Mrs. A. Rode Mrs. M. McGrath

To the Class of 1966: Your theme The Spirit of 1966 probably has many of the characteristics of any other period, and yet it must also have some differences. Its characteristics in common with men and societies of other periods you learned early in life. Its differences from the spirit of other years , on the other hand, you find in your academic and social experiences. It is in the development of the latter that I hope our efforts have been fruitful. Elliptically defined, spirit is the principle of conscious life, and as such, it is that of 1966; yet it must mean much more to find itself associated with any age. It should also encompass your awareness of the life of others—their happiness. Though the principle above- mentioned probably has its fullest expression in the sine qua non of a successful life, which is the under- standing among men, the spirit is constantly being modified by the reactions of man to artificial and natural changes in his world. And the quality of your own reactions takes its character and form through the learning experiences in your education. It is to this last area that educators may contribute if they are going to help in your societal stability and hap- piness. It is my expectation that we might have helped you to understand and appreciate those aspects and differences that make the spirit of 1966 meaning- ful in your lives. If we have succeeded here, you will contribute to human understanding, and to the peace so desperately sought by men everywhere. Sincerely, Louis Blumberg Mr. Louis Blumberg A busy day is drawing to an end for Mr. Blumberg and his hard-working secretary, Mrs. Aldrovandi.
