CLASS PRGPHECY On May '30 of the year 1967 I was makrng a Grand Tour ofthe Unrted States Canada and Mexrco When l got on the Jet Arrlrner rn Chrcago I prcked up a newspaper and on the way to New York I saw a brg full page advertrsement wrth the name Rons Casrno I drdn t thrnk much about rt at frrst but just as I turned the page a prcture happened to catch my eye I knew the face but couldn t call the name Then I recognrzed rt rt was my old schoolmate Ronald Hrgerd whom I had graduated wrth at Gem Kansas rn 1957 When I arrrvecl rn New York I looked up Rons address and found that he owned property on Wall Street I had a cab take me to hrs place and as luck would have rr he was home and wasn t going to be busy that evenrng so we went to the Stork Club and had drnner As we were eatrng I asked hrm how he had acqurred so much and he told me that he owned twenty per cent of the stock rn General Motors and the rest of rt had been acqurred by playrng the After I left New York I went to M1am1 vra TWA and about one hour out of New York the prlot came back rnto the plane cabrn to vrsrt wrth the passengers When I saw the prlot I was astonrshed to see another of my 57 classmates Ward Munkres After he had addressed the passengers he came and sat rn the vacant seat next to me and I started to talk about Gem and he sard he drdn t know me Then when he found out who I was we had qurte a long talk about our school days rn Gem and the mrschref we got rnto whrle we were there Ward asked me where I was gorng and I told hrm that I was gorng to M1am1 for a week or so then to Mexrco Crty to see the bullfrghts and the other artractrons that mrght be there As I was on my way back home I came through Western Kansas to see Mr Selby who had been our sponsor back rn 1957 I found hrm lrvrng as a reured farmer and teacher 1n a mansron whrch he had burlt from hrs prosperous farmlng 1n NO MAN S LAND QI know I worked there one summer J After my v1s1t w1th Mr Selby, I returned to my home rn Denver and my Job of reparrrng televrsron sets whrch brought rn enough for me to make a meager lrvmg on ' 7 7 ' , I I 7 I 1 ' . . 1 .
