JUNIORS The school year of 1948 49 has been an eventful one for the jumors who are Shurl Decker jerry Knudson joyce Laurltsen Beverley Mentllck Duane Saddler Estelle Treat and jean Woerpel Charles Hopson was a member of the class untxl the second semester when he had enough credits to classlfy as a Semor Soon after school opened we agaln chose Mr McArthur as our sponsor and elect ed jean as our President and Beverley as Secretary Treasurer ln the fall we had several class partles whlch bolstered our morale even though the town of Colby was left none the better for the occasxons We must not have behaved too badly though for the Pyramid Cafe w1ll stxll let us nn after f1rst hxdmg all ash trays and alertlng the not squad All Jokmg asnde we had fun on these class sponsored parties and belxeve there should be more all school partles We thmk our sponsor Mr McArthur the best ever and cannot properly express our appreclatmn to htm for all he has done for us thls year Wlth an eye on the junlor Semor banquet thls year and our future Semor actlvztles we have been busy tlus year raxsmg money for our class fund We have done thls by sellmg magaz1nes Chrlstmas cards and wrappmg paper and by servmg at all our home basketball games The juniors have been active ln any and all school actlvltles as are all the students of G C H S We have chosen umform class rxngs whxch we wxll recexve thls sprmg Also The Darkest Nrght the World Has Ever Known Did Not Put Out the Stars and our class colors blue and whxte As thus year closes we are all waztmg for but not anxlously our Semor year SOPHOMORES We L Vena Spencer Darlene Bond Carrol Burke and Peggy Lannmg were unwillingly led Into school once agam last September We elected Mrs McArthur as Sophomore sponsor We all take part m musxc and athletzcs At the beglnnmg of the year we all had parts 1n the gypsy operetta Chomta We thought we accompllshed rt very well for all the postponements we had because of stormy weather We believe all of us shall have earned a letter 1n basketball Darlene has played forward Carrol has played both forward and guard whxle L Vena and Peggy have played guard regularly We turned out to oe good magazme peddlers after we got through sellmg magazxnes last fall We have taken up the candy sellxng busxness as a way to mcrease our class funds We also sold napkms last spring Accordmg to the way our customers ask for our wares we sell Cherry Marshes Lockjaws Bltes o Honey Vegetable Gum and Brothers Smlth s Cough Drops We really sell qulte a few of the more popular brands of candy bars and gum By the end of the year we hope to have made a lxttle proflt 13 Y I I I , D I I 0 . - I - O .
