The years that a student spends in high school could be measured In miles. What does a student think of when he is asked about the milestones he has passed in his high school career? He may think of the lonely halways that extend in front of him as he arrives tardy to dass. He may think of the vast distance that surrounds this planet of ours or the many miles of pavement he has covered cruis¬ ing up and down the boulevard on Friday nights. He may think of the many books he has paged through for that certain report. Fie may think of the countless times he has gazed into the miles of sky in search of a goal for his future in this country. Fie may think of the endless miles of stairs he has climbed to reach his classroom. Fie may think of the plans he has made to travel in different directions after he graduates from high school. But most of al. he may wish he were miles and miles away from home, yet always finding some way of returning.
