JUNIOR FLOAT MAKERS launch repair job on trophy-winning en- try, Golden Road to Victory. Victory, tradition tag first homecominc Kindling spirit, lumber, Friday night bonfire sparked first homecoming. Gridmen fed flames with Ingot effigy, while cheerleaders and rooters hurled into “homecoming hysteria”. Two-hour horn-honking parade, boasting thirty- five vehicles and one white horse, threaded through Gavit area for corner spectators. Braced with homecoming programs, popcorn, taffy apples and throat lozenges, grid backers bombarded bleachers for afternoon game. Crowd of 1,600 pennant-waying fans, decked in purple and gold corsages and booster badges, rallied Glads to 45-6 win over River Forest. Spurring purple-clad tacklers, Mr. James Federoff, Booster Club president, dedicated of- ficial new scoreboard during half-time. Junior class, Spanish Club and cheerleaders’ entries copped awards in float competition. Marching band and white-gloved drill team filed across turf in mid-game maneuvers. Senior princesses Tula Carstensen, Nancy Pickett and junior attendants Wendy Franey, Sue Von Almen shared Rose Ann Sapyta’s reign. I
