AlThough The record was 2-6 They were a very good fooTball Team, boTh offensively and defensively. Some of The Teams sTandouTs were: lVlosT OuT- sTanding Offensive Player-Don PaTTer- son: MosT OuTsTanding Defensive Play- er-Dan Roberson: lVlosT lnspiraTional Player-Bryan Paulson: and MosT Valu- able Player-Jim Flynn. The sophomore fooTball Team finished The season wiTh 6 wins and A losses and were coached by Mr. Spencer Johnson. The players were Tough, dedicaTed, and closely kniT, according To coach Johnson. They played as a Team and did very well. The head coach said, lf The play- ers will work hard in The off season, They should have a good shoT aT mak- ing The sTaTe playoffs in 1985 or 1986 WiTh a liTTle biT of hard work, GaTe- way's upperclassmen fooTball Team will have a good chance To become a winning Team.
