There Jennifer was very acTive in organizafions her Freshman and Sophomore year. Since Jennifer has been af Gafe- way, she has been acTive in STudenT Covernmenf, Junior Achievemenf, German Club, Ski Club, Fufure Business leaders of America, Sfudenf Advisory, and NorTh Cenfral Associafion. Jennifer has been elecfed To many offices, which have included Vice PresidenT of Junior AchievemenT, Capfain of The Junior Varsify soccer Team, Vice Presi- denf of STudenT Body, Treasurer of German Club qJunior yearj, and Presi- denT of German Club CSenior yearj. Jennifer was recognized in Who's Who Among High School STudenTs. She has received many awards which include NaTionaI Sfudenf Council Award, Na- Tional English Merif Award, and Nafion- al Academic All-American Award. Jennifer has also been on The Honor Roll. In her spare Time, Jennifer is usually working. She works as a hosfess aT Chili's Bar and C-Brill and she is also a recepTionisT for Hair Performers. Kirk Wilson Kirk Wilson has been aT Gafeway four years. Kirk age 'I7, knows whaf if means To be successful. Kirk has been acTive in sporTs, leffering in fooTball and playing baskefball his sophomore year. 'll enjoyed compefing in sporfs and I am sorry now Thaf I was noT more acTive in fooTball and baskefball my freshman and junior years. ln Kirk's Ju- nior year he was Sporfs Edifor for Cafe- ways Medallion. He began The year by winning homecoming Prince. He end- ed iT wiTh The honor of becoming prom prince. Kirk's senior year he served as senior class presidenT. His experience on The Medallion sfaff gave him The posifion of Edifor in Chief. As if These acTiviTies were noT enough, Kirk worked aT Chickfil-a for Three years. He also mainTained above a 3.0 GPA including honors maTh and honors English courses. His plans for The fuTure are auife con- creTe. Darrell Perkins Senior Darrell Perkins has made a name for himself aT GaTeway in more ways Than jusT one. Darrell, age 47, has aTTended GaTeway for all four years of his high school career. He has achieved an ouTsTanding aThleTic record which is evidenf Through his accumulaTion of seven varsi- Ty IeTTers. Darrell earned Two of his leTTers for fooTball, Two leTTers for baskefball, and Three leTTers for Track. When asked if he ever geTs discouraged and feels like auiTTing sporTs he says, I have never, ever, even wanTed To auiT when Things geT bad, because I like sporTs Too much: when Things do go bad or do noT Turn ouT how I planned, I pray. Darrell is acTive aT CenTral BapTisT Church where he serves as a youTh group leader. IT is easy To see why This remarkable young man was voTed The 4984 Homecoming King. He has managed To mainTain a 3.0 GPA in college prep courses amidsT his busy schedule. Darrell also has been working aT Chickfil-a for Three years. ln Darrell's fuTure he hopes To receive a fooTball schol- arship To eiTher U.C.L.A., NoTre Dame, or C.U. aT Boulder. She held The office of parliamenfarian in The DisTribuTive EducaTion Club of Amer- ica QDECAQ aT The vocafional Technological cenTer. Mary Fran- ces was also a soccer manager in her freshman year. In her spare Time, she loves To dance. She Took Tap, jazz and balleT aT Miller's dance sTudio. This was for Two years and she plans on conTinuing This sTudy for as long as possible. Patty Galloway Patty Galloway Thinks You should set your goals now while you're young and you need to begin reaching for them. Also, you should enjoy high school now while you still have a chance. ln Patty's four years at Gateway, she has participated jn such activities as: basketball, cheerleading, Future Busi- wess Leaders of America, Student Advisory, Student Government, National Honor Society, the Ski Club, and the Parliamentary Procedures Team. Patty was Home- oming and Prom nominee for Princess her Junior year. he was then elected Homecoming Queen her Senior year. Patty has also received recognition in Who's Who Among American High School Students. Patty has been awarded Most Improved in Honors English 3, Most Out- standing in science her Freshman year, and she received a trophy for her excellent performance in basketball. The ,offices Patty has held include Vice President her Fresh- man year, President of National Honor Society, The Parlia- mentarian for FBLA, and captain of the cheerleading squad. ln her spare time, Patty likes to socialize, do her home- work, and eat. Some of the outside activities that Patty as participated in are: Young Life, Queen of Peace asketball, and Aurora Girls Softball. After graduating rom high school, Patty plans on attending the University of Colorado. Her goals in life are to become successful in a business related society. She would like to become Steve Joiner During his four years at Gateway, Steve Joiner has been active both athletically and scholastically. Steven has partici- pated in track four years, football three years, basketball one year, cross country and band. He lettered in track two years and football one year. He belonged to National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Steve held the offices of Band Council President and was also the Senior Class Secretary. On top of that, he was chosen to be in Who's Who Among American Highschool Students, an organization that recognizes outstanding youth in the United States. He also participated in Boys State where he learned much about the government. Steve says out of all of his activities that band is his favorite. When asked why he chose to play the clarinet he replied, 'lbecause my parents wouldn't let me play the drums. Steve plays in the Colorado Honor Band and has ever since the fourth grade. Steve attends All Saints Lutheran Church where he is a member of the youth group and the youth choir. After high school he hopes to attend CU and major in medi- cine. He'd like to get on the track team there. Steve's favorite teacher, lvlr. Lincoln describes Steve as be- ing Uconscientious, capable, dedicated and very thoughtful of others. Mr. Capra was also one of Steve's favorite teach- ers. Steve's advice to future upperclassmen is Don't strive to be the best.
