Cn December I,2, and 3, Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon , was presented by the Drama department. It was a modern day love story that evolved around three patients in a hospital. There is Junie, an acid scarred young woman who is concientious of anyone after her accident, which was caused by her boyfriend. Then comes Arthur, an epileptic who is very close to Junie. Warren is the strange one of the bunch, he is in a wheelchair and lives his life as if he isn't. During the opening of the play, these three are under the supervision of Dr. Kirkland, and his assistants, Nurses Oxford and Holt. Friends in the hospital include Goren, his girlfriend ' Marilyn, and a close, old friend, Minnie. Junie, Arthur, and Warren are soon released from the hospital, and of course, Warren has a house set up. Next to their dream house lives two nosey neighbors, Sidney and Lil. Arthur P soon goes out to find a job at Marios fishmarket. Mario seems nice enough, but after Sidney and Lil get through with him, he has second thoughts about hiring Arthur. Arthur becomes dismayed and runs away, which has , Junie and Warren going crazy looking for him. Meanwhile, a lady named Gregory is keeping Warren busy with her high 3 class activities, which includes getting Warren to walk again. After Arthur is found, the three take V a well deserved vacation to a seaside Q resort. Warren has plans of attending a 9. party, and Arthur declines because of tiredness. Junie stays with him, and Arthur becomes more ill as the two talk more and more. Soon Arthur dies, and the play ends with Junie and Warren moving out of their house. Throughout the play, Warren, Junie, Arthur, and Mario have flashbacks of relatives, friends. and the olden days. The set for the play was the best that has come to the stage in a long time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to the tremendous work of the cast and crews. Srs. 's................................-.........-...... . .......--.... .nnnouoaaooousenoonnaonoououuoanuoquo n Rodgers and Harts By Jupiter, an an- cient Greek musical, opened on March I5, l984. A dinner theatre was held March I6, with a closing night show following on March I7. Before coming to the Gateway stage, By Jupiter was run on Broadway in June of l942. Its curtain rose for 427 per- formances, and was the longest running Rodgers and Harts musical. The setting for the musical an ancient Greek place called The Sand of the Ama- zons . One catch about this place, the woman are the warriors and the men are the ladies of the house . It 'starts out as an army of Greek invaders, who are used to a more traditional relationship be- tween the genders, arrive with the ex- press mission offending and taking home the Sacred Girdle of Diana, which is an undergarment, which is currently being worn by the Queen of the Amazons. The Greek leaders are quickly captured and brought before the all-female council for questioning. The ladies are completely bewildered by the idea of men being treated as equals, but soon, after a lot of convincing, the ladies are pursuaded into believing for the equality. As director Seth Rossman quoted, Sometimes you do a show with a bunch of talented kids who are pains in the necks, and sometimes you do a show with kids who are nice, but not so good talent wise, but on this show, l worked with a bunch of talented kids who were also great to work with . 38 By Jupiter Srs.
