S Sr. Joey Manfre and Jr. Kirk Wilson inform Sr. Tom Riester on information to give their caller. Throughout the year at Gateway, we gave our best in everything we attempt- ed, we were proud and spirited, we went for the gold! During the pep assemblies, we showed our spirit. At home games we came to support our team and cheer them on to victory. Our cheerleaders and Water Buf- faloes followed the teams around the state as they strove to climb to the top. The clubs at Gateway this year grew bigger with more members, continued support, and exciting activities. New clubs were reorganized such as the Pep and Ski clubs. Our clubs won state recog- nition and many awards at various com- petitions. Newly added intramural sports proved a great success as Football, Volleyball, and Basketball kept us occupied after school. Many school associated teams competed against each other, and they fought hard during the championships. These sports had boys, girls, and co-ed teams, so there was something for every- one. Of course, our education was in- creased. Classes became smaller due to the loss of students by the opening of Rangeview. New faculty were welcomed in and soon became familiar with the ways of Gateway. Our new pep assembly schedules, half days, and days off pro- vided well deserved breaks. ln school activites and special pro- grams provided us with everything we needed to have fun. The bands kept us entertained at various events, and gave us music. The performances put on by the theatre department let us expand our knowledge of the world and ourselvs. Ev- ery month we awaited the latest issue of the Medallion, so we could read the newest happenings at Gateway.
