, ...R Vi Senior class officers. Vernon Clark, Melissa Bunney, Heidi Thigpen, and Joyce Davis. is . N X M 'M 'u.'.s.. .. We The Clas of l984... Friends, fun, and memories. These words best described our I2 years of school. Our elementary days were care- free, and easy. During these years we began making friends that would last us through our high school lives. After the days of long lunches and recesses were over, came middle school. The two years we spent there we really grew up and learned the facts of life. Members of the opposite sex began looking better, and we became in contact with that unpopu- lar fad, homework. Ninth grade came too soon as we got a chance to see the 'real world'. Gateways size amazed us and so did the Seniors. Our Fr. year we elected President- Taunya Cordova, Vice-President-Trish Davis, Secretary-Naree Jones, and Trea- surer-Joyce Davis. Our Count and Count- ess for homecoming were Pete Halsten and Deana Chamberlain. Our Soph. year was filled with firsts. Gateway won its first homecoming game in six years, and our Soph. football team won Centennial League Champions. Our elected officers were President- Rick Schmitz, Vice-President- Vernon Clark, Secretary- Dave Chrzan, and Treasurer- Jenny Prescott. Andre Martin and Deana Chamberlain were crowned Duke and Dutchess for our homecoming game. We were also the most spirited and together class. During our Junior year was a time when we had to start cracking down on home- work and begin thinking about college prep. courses. ACT's, SAT's, and PSAT's were beginning to sound like more of a reality than a dream. Our homecoming royalty was Andre Martin and Joyce Da- vis. Our class officers, President-Melissa Bunney, Vice-President- Heidi Thigpen, Secretary- Craig Revels, and Treasurer- Joyce Davis put on a fantastic prom, which was held at the Denver Hilton, downtown. Our Senior year was filled with either college courses, required courses, or easy, blowoff classes. Our officers were President- Joyce Davis, Vice-President- Vernon Clark, Secretary- Heidi Thigpen and Treasurer- Melissa Bunney. Our year was totally different from any year at Gateway. Many new policies and prob- lems arose. The fight over our mascot, and the olympic rings started up, as we fought to keep our school name. Towards the end of April we looked back at the four years gone by and wondered where all the time had gone. lt seemed like just yesterday we were playing on the play- ground at school, passing off the dreaded disease- Kooties. Soon we would be graduated and finally on our own. For some of us, getting out of high school meant going to college, or starting a full time job. But no matter what we did after we got out of school, the past four years that we spent at Gateway high would never be forgotten, and Gateway high would never forget us, the Class of l984l l46 Seniors
