Cherry creek, Boulder and Mul- len were all by a deficit of lO points. ln the games of the season the Oly's to win two of their last three games. The first game was against the Regis Raiders, the Oly's were ahead by as many as 23 points, but in the second half the Raiders closed the gap to as little as one. ln the closing seconds of the game the Raiders had a traveling violation that secured the victory. They easily won their next two games and earned the right once again play the Cherry Creek the first round of the district For the fourth year in a row the Oly's lost their first round playoff game. But this defeat didn't follow the style of past seasons. For the first half the Oly's played their best basketball of the season and carried a three point lead into the locker room. ln the second half the Bruins W ff lfs I W f Q Jdzlwwl Witigwdiwmgwo Games From State overpowered Gateway with strong rebounding and good outside shoot- ing. Cherry Creek went on to a 63 to 52 victory. Gateway finished the season with a somewhat disappointing record of 9-lO. For next season Coach Brinsko expects a rebuilding season with only one returning senior. Brinsko hopes to find some height for the upcoming seasons and return Gate- way to among the top teams in the league. It was a learning experience for first year coach Don Martin and the players of the S3-84 junior varsity basketball team. Because of a lack of junior players, Martin made no cuts for the team. At times the team was forced to play with only eight people and once the team was forced to play with only four play- ers in the fourth quarter.
