Each year the Crescent is Just a bit better than the one before, so here is a big thanks to you, Hrs. 0. D. Bates, and the Crescent Staff. All students should know by the time you get this book that school is a place of work and play, and a place where each student is making his or her own individual record, regardless of whether it is good or bad. And remember this... you cannot come back in 19ol and change your high school record. In this world of ours each of us must work, must know how to do something and must be honest with ourselves. Do not do something which will disgraoe your family, home, church or country. I know that your teachers are always anxious to go out of their way to help each of you if you have the proper attitude. fty advice to you as you go on through school and adult life is to take time to make friends and to get along with people. Lots of luckI Your own 'ncle Sid -Sidney Pruitt SP:mr

Trx«» TO THE STUEENT BODYi First, let me congratulate the Annual Staff and its sponsor, Mrs. 0. D. Bates, for the untiring efforts in publishing the Crescent for 1951. The indispensable part which you have played in promoting school spirit has been duly recognised. It has been a pleasure to work with all the young people of the Gatesville Schools. The cooperation received from the entire student body has been greatly appreciated. To the Seniors, I wish for you success and happiness. Even in the unsettled conditions of the world today I sincerely hope that you will continue with ambitious determination. Let us believe that faith is the guiding principle of our lives, and that we should continue our intellectual growth and spiritual development. The experiences we are now sharing together should bear fruit in the lives of others in the years to come. Very sincerely yours. L. C. MeRamie Superintendent LCH:
