This, the 1949 Crescent, is a book of memories, commemorating the Golden Anniversary of graduating classes of Gatesville High School—the graduating class of 1899 and the seniors of today. We feel that the class of 1899, the first graduates of Gatesville High School, cherished the memories of G. H. S. And these, my classmates, are your future memories; whether they be happy or sad, time will dull the sharp edges. To that 1899 class, who has fulfilled its future, and to the class of 1949, who yet has life ahead, we dedicate this Crescent. May it keep alive memories that will be dear for another fifty years. Your Editor
