Each week the Uatesville Messenger has given us an allotted space for news of our school activities, and we f el that the Interest manifested in the HORNETS’ NEST has not only lx cn within the school limits, hut the entire community as well. LEST WE FORGET The afternoon sun had sunk below the western horizon and the excessive heat of the day was declining: a faint breeze bore the fragrance of tin flowers over the hillside. I sat on a concrete wall that bound the campus of a great Institution, and gazed down in tin valley where rabbits were playing and feeding upon the green grass, the calves were having their evening frolic over the gullies, and the fire flies were appearing here and there in harfrony with the buttercups. My eyes followed the flight of a moth into the open sky above me and behold, it disappeared and I found myself staring face to face at the Crescent. It shone like a crown of gold, in fact, it startled me so that I jumped tip and stumbled over a patch of hushes into a hornet’s nest which of course awoke me completely of my trance. When I turned to escape there was old G. II. S. behind me. where a portion of my life has been busily spent, and I shall never forget the hazardous enterprises that has occured there for it is all told in the CRESCENT. SENIOR CLASS The senior class is composed of H4 girls and 2( boys. Those who did not have their pictures in the annual are: Dorothy Andrew. Mildred Brown, Cleone (’row, Lalla Dean McBride, Iva Mac Murphy, Minnie Wells Summers. Frank Black. SENIOR PLAY ‘TEA TOPER TAVERN” is the name of the play which tin senior class presented April 22. under the direction of Mrs. I). I. (lass It was played by a cast of fourteen characters. The play with the splendid between act numbers was enjoyed by everyone who was present, and I’m sure this was a program which we shall never forget, especially we seniors. FOOTBALL IN B. B.
