Qfwtofzq In 1947, twelve little tykes, bewildered and scared started on their rough, but rewarding road to education. They were as follows: Rob- ert Avery, Johnnie Despain, Eugene Dixon, Burl Landers, Tommie Martin, Jimmy Perkins, Larry Wilson, Darlene Miller, Mary Shep- hard, Phyllis Moore, Bernice Whisenhunt, and Sharon Farrel. Due to moving and sickness from the first grade to the freshman year we lost Eugene Dixon, Johnnie DeSpain, Sharon Farrel, and Phyllis Moore. We had gained Charlene Dyer, and Rose Stahlman. When we were sophomores we welcomed back Phyllis. Bernice and Charlene decreased the wit and size of our class in our junior year. Our class is taking the final and fatal steps thirteen strong. We are Phyllis Moore, Mary Shephard, Robert Avery, Darlene Miller, Larry Wilson, Jimmie Perkins, Rose Stahlman, Burl Landers, and Tom Martin. We were pleased to welcome Mesdames Elva Whisenhunt, Elisa- beth Newby, Ruby Oswald, and Catherine Williamson in our senior year. Congratulations to these adults who are finishing their high school credits. We will always cherish the memories of our school life above all things. The lessons leamed and emotions experienced will be very profitable and beneficial. We will always have a warm spot in our hearts for those sharing victories and defeats that are remaining at Gate High to carry on the traditions that we tried to uphold in every possible way. 61444 7041! The seniors of '59 being of sound mind Q??j do leave this final will and testament. I, I, Mary Shephard, will my pony tail to Julia Graves and my ability to play the trumpet to my sister, Joyce. I, Phyllis Moore, will my boldness to Larry Heinz and my right arm basketball throwing ability to Konda Merett. I, Oz Avery, will my height to Mike Stockton and my studious nature to Eugene Dixon- QContinued to Page 535 GATE co-or AssocrAT1oN PERRYTON EQUITY Gate Knowles
