The initiation started with a bang, and lasted four days. We all had to wear costumes of different kinds--from gunny sack shorts to clothes inside out and backwards. The last day we en- tertained the Student Body by singing songs and doing stunts. Everything ended with an initiation partyx The party for the Sophomores which the Freshmen sponsored was enjoyed by everyone. As Sophomores we were never very busy but enjoyed the school year and looked forward to our Junior Year. Bud Perkins quit school and entered the Navy in May of our Sophomore year. At the beginning of our Junior year, there were 7 pupils. During the first semester Oren King transferred to Gaston from Kings Valley, Bettie Ober to Gaston from Seaside, and Lorraine Williams dropped out, which still left us with seven.' The second semester Elinor Logan entered Gaston from Laurelwood. There are A Juniors in the play this yearg Oren King, Mary Kingx Grace Tacholsky, and Doris Reed.
