SENIOR CLASS HISTORY lContinuedJ The Class Officers were: President . . . . . Elizabeth Keightley Vice President. . . George Steele Secretary . . . . . Evelyne Mattson Treasurer . . . . . Donna Blum Mr. Metzger, the principal, was now our advisor. During the course of the year we sold candy to make money. In January of l9L3, we took a trip to Salem and visited the State Capital, Fairview Home, State Penn, School for Blind, and The House of Wood. The day ended by all attending the show NThe Major and the Minoru. In the spring of the year we gave the Seniors the annual banquet at the Congregational Church. The theme was Victory and the decorations were in red, white, and blue. Entertainment was provided by The Junior Class Members and the speaker. After the banquet the Juniors and Seniors went to the show in Hillsboro. The year ended with e school picnic at Herters Park. Coming back Wall out for victoryn our class was reduced to eight members with the boys definitely in mimority due to the drafting and signing up for the services of our country. Some of them who entered the service were: Dean Johnston, Millard Buxton, Francis Lane, Clyde Olson, and Marvin Poe. The Class Officers were: V President . . . . . Betty Lou Koberstein Secretary . . . . . Evelyne Mattson After four years of earnest endeavor we have attained greatest achievement, and although we are glad to graduate, we know we will often wish we could return to good old Gaston High.

CLASS WILL FOR l9hb Senior Class being of sound mind and body does hereby bequeath to the Student Body a dictionary and picture in hall of fame. .To Juniors: Our enthusiasm and ability to pass Senior year without studying. To Sophomores: Our sympathy for their lack of boys. To Freshmen: Good grades, ability to stick it through until the end. I, Frank Heesacker, being of'strong beck and week mind do hereby will my ability to pitch woo to Ralph Griffith. I, Donna Blum, being of weak back und strong mind, do hereby will my 5'7W of American Womanhood to Bernice Ooley. I, Evelyne Mattson, being of sound mind and sound body do hereby will my many different hair styles to entering Freshmen. I, Betty Koberstein, being of sound mind and sound body, do hereby will my slenderness to Dick Marine. I, Bernice Lee, being of strong will power, do hereby will my ability to hold two men at once to Doris Reed. I, Estle Harlow, being short bodied and tell minded, will my dancing ability to Bobby Clerk. I, George Steel, being of stronger back than mind,-do hereby will my full wit to the half-wit Junior Class.
