S NIOR CLASS HISTORY The Senior Class of 1941 started its high school educan tion on September 13, 1937 with Mr. Smith as class advisor and Glenn Meredith as class president. The usual initiation and Fresh- man-Sophomore parties soon followed, The rather uneventful year was concluded with an all school picniceat Avalon Park, The second year was begun on September 12, 1938 with Mr. Walsh as class advisor, and Glenn Meredith again as classspresident. The initiation of the Freshmen was the major achievement of the year, The year was once more brought to a close with a picnic at Avalon Park, Due to remodeling of the school building, the third year did not begin until October 9, 1939. During this, our Junior year, both the girls and boys won intramural basketball champion- ships. The class had a special picnic at Avalon Park near the end of the year, The school picnic was held for a third time at Avalon Park. Glenn was again elected class president and Mr. Walsh as class advisor. The fourth year was started on September 9, 1940 with Mr. Lawrence as class advisor and Wayne Peckham as class presi- dent, Many parties made the year very enjoyable, During the year the class made two trips to Salem, On the first trip we visited the State Hospital, Fairview Home, State Penitentiary, and the State Blind School. On the second trip we visited the State Legislature while it was in session. As the Senior Play we presented UMurdered Alive,W a three act mystery, netting SAO. The much-looked-forward-to event, the Senior Sneak, was pulled off without a hitch very early on the morning of April 13. Everyone enjoyed the three day stay at Newport greatly.
