This first teaching engagement was made in 1020. His next two years were .spent at Rusk where he was principal of the elementary school and a coach in high .school. In the fall of 1929 he returned to Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College to complete work on his B.S. degree. Later V A degree from Sam Houston State Teachers College. He has, through his .strong advocation of a . g come a molder of fine personalities at Gaston. Having a personality with the power of a lodestone, he makes friends wherever he goes. Mr. Summers i.s an active member of .several teachers and administrators associations of state and na- tional scope. Not limiting his activities to those in the educational field, he is a Hotarian and is a past pres- ident of that service club. Having a liking for .sports of all description, Mr. Summers spends a great deal of his leisure time on the golf course.
