CLASS HISTORY fcontinuedj This year things were different. We didn't have recesses anymore, and instead of one teacher, we had several. We elected Mr. Parker as our class sponsor. We gained many new students this year. They are: Jean West, Pat Kirkwood, John Briggs, Harold Oliver, Tom Marshall, Charles Black, Ed Wright, Jack Atkinson, Iva Jean Armstrong, Beverly Brimball, Hazel Townshend, Phillip Lacy, David Lacy, Jerry Shaw, -Patsy Domenos, and Dorothy Hayden. We got acquainted with our new classmates and the big assembly and now feel 'at home . David Lacy, Virginia Bennett, and Sam Roe moved. We elected Miss Pinnick as our class sponsor in the eighth grade. We gained one new student, John Burton, but lost several. They were: Patsy Domenos, Phillip Lacy, Jerry Shaw, Wayne Messersmith, Harold Oliver, Beverly Gourley, Hazel Townshend, Kenneth Vaugh, and Charles Black. ln our freshmen year we re-elected Miss Pinnick as our sponsor. New students were: Mary Huff, Beverly Blazier, and Don l-larmin. We lost Tom Marshall, Don Harrnin, Jack Atkinson, Bob McPherson, Mary Huff, Dorothy Hayden, Pat Kirkwood, Phil Lacy, and Beverly Brimhall. We again elected'Miss Pinnick as our sponsor in the tenth grade. We lost: lva Jean Armstrong,John Briggs, Anna Smith, and Dick Lacy. We started to work so we would have money for our senior trip. We sponsored a fox drive, a basketball class tourney, and sold whopple mops for the county tourney. During our Junior year we elected Mr. Sears as our class sponsor. Margery Clements was our only student and we lost her this year too. John Burton left us and went to Florida. We gave a play called 'Husbands Don'tsKnow Everything g sponsored a Junior Carnival, and sold ice cream, pop and candy at ball games. We have reached the finish-line of our high school education. We have learned many things but we still have many more to leam. We re-elected Mr. Sears as our class sponsor. We took our senior trip ln October. Our trip consisted of Washington D. C. , Niagara Falls, Canada, and New York City. It was a nine-day bus tour that we all enjoyed. Our new student, Jerry Marklns, joined us the second semester. We planned for a play called Chintz Cottage , and also put out an annual called Bulldog Barks . Our Baccalaureate and Commencement were held on May 6 and May 8th, Those who received diplomas on May 8th were: Don Bennett, Beverly Blazier, Roberta Brown, Tom Glass, Margaret Johnson, John Parker, Charline Rehme, Jean West, Ed Wright, and Jerry Markins. 2
