A 1, W, ,.,-,-f'w,...v-ve aw f - f K W ex iii I OUR SENIOR TRIP On October 7, We Gaston Seniors, journeyed with Albany Seniors to Washington, New York City, Niagara Falls and Canoda. We stayed in the Pittsburgher Hotel in Pittsburgh, and then journeyed to Washington and visited Gettysburg, The Capital, Lee's Mansion, the Jefferson Memorial, the Congressional Library, and Mount Vernon. We went inside the Church that George Washington had attended, then visited the Smithsonian Institute, Supreme Court, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, passed the Memorial Centennial Hall and saw the Arlington Memorial Bridge. We saw the tomb ot' the unknown soldier and also the changing of guards at this tomb. New York City was next with the Empire State Building, Diamond Horseshoe, and the Queen Mary clocking, a three hour boat tour around Manhattan Island, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and United Nations Building. After the boat tour we went through the Bowery and then to Chinatown. We were glad to get out. We were scared. We went into a Chinese Temple and the guide explained their religion. Later at Niagara we boarded the Maid ot' the Mist ship which showed us the Falls. We headed toward Canada and then home again. We will never target the bowling and entertainment at Radio City and the Johnny Olson show. The trip is over but the memories will live tor a long time yet to come. mlm -V - C... 8
