Our rural leaders have long been interested in the advancement of the children of the Gaston community. Many 4-H projects were completed before a full-time agricultural teacher was employed. However, we can point with pride to the fact that our recent clubwork and summer project work has been gratifying. Our membership has gradually increased until we now have around seventy active members. We thank our parents and our other backers without whose help we know advancement is most difficult. Those who have done outstanding work are: Mark Brokaw, Dale Martini, Dick West, Gordon Messersmith, Richard Slater, Charles Hardin, Barbara Mauck, Charles Kirtley, Norma Mauck, john johnson, Roscoe LaRue, john Townsend, and jerry Markins.
