T H E E P O C H gy FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY Our great day came when we became Pages fFreshmenib. The first group of this class came over on the good ship, Promotion, and landed September 4, 1928. XYe were treated royally, although we were very green. XYe proved that we could do our duty as Pages, so we were passed the last half of our Hrst year to G. C. H. S. Then the second group of our class came to join us on January 28. 1929. They promised to serve the high school and do their duty as Pages, and I think they have succeeded so far. Wve have three years more ahead of us. Then we will have the oppor- tunity to become Nobles. XYhen we become these dignified persons, we will show the Class of '29 what they might have accomplished in G. C. H. S. -C. E. MY RUSE My favorite tlower is the rose, All pink, red, and white. Of all the flowers growing, The rose is my delight. XYhen T'm all alone and weary, And sad, and feeling blue, I go out in my garden And pick a rose or two. Then I put them fresh in water, And set them by my side: .-Xnd soon, l'm as cheerful as ever. My dreariness has passed o'er the tide. So, to those who read my poem If ever you're lonesome and blue. .lust send for me and my roses And we'll certainly cheer you up, too. -V. G. EE::u::::::::ggz:::::::::.- 1 9 2 9 Page thirty-fouo'
