T H E E P O C H Esther asked about other old schoolmates and old times, I told her about them as I knew where nearly all of them were. She asked what I was doing and I told her. Of course, she was not a great deal surprised because my hobby was always singing, but no one ever guessed I'd go to the top, I told her I had never married and she was shocked then. I traveled on to XYashinq'ton and Oregon, and met llelen .Xtkinson in an office. She was surprised to see me and told me she was going east. I was also returning' and we decided to go together. Vve met Clarence Graves on the train as we got off at Cliicago. .Xs we were visiting in Chicago, we met Marion Teague, who was hurrying' to an important meeting of some kind: so nothing' was gained through him. Iflelen and I decided we would come hack to Gas City again To see what things looked like. Passing through Gary, Indiana, we met the only class- mates remaining, Ruth Baker and Ilelen Morris, both of whom were married an d very happy. Before we reached Gas City, my wonderful prophetic dream ended as I had found all the Class of '29. I felt rather ill, hut was thankful for the revelation that had come to me. Wow! THOSE GUM CHEWING GIRLS The gum chewing girl And the cudschewing' cow Are somewhat alike, Yet different somehow. IYhat difference? Uh, yes, I see it now. It's the tl'lUl1g'lllflil.lI look Un the face of the cow. ' L A, I ' alle :lf L, QQ V-5 .L G? 1 9 2 9 Page tiueiztv-mm
