The lettermen began this year with a new addition. This was the first year girls have been in the club, and, according to Mr. Ewing, each helped considerably. Among the activities of the lettermen is the car wash, WMEE basketball game, faculty-lettermen basketball game, bakesale, and the annual FCA-lettermen’s hayride. The hayride had a few problems. First, the leaders got lost, then an engine of one of the tractors blew. As if that wasn’t enough, a girl got sick, a wagon had a flat tire, and the movie that followed got started two hours late. 66 FCA BIG SUCCESS AT PEP SESSIONS ae This year under the leadership of Mr. Richard Boyd, FCA organized the following: a hay ride, Christmas caroling for the elderly, an all nighter, skits for pep sessions, a 12-hour bike-a-thon for the athletic depart- ment, a float for homecoming, a Wowo Penny Pitch, took elementary special ed to Hamilton basketball game. FCA also established themselves as members in the na- tional FCA. The Sidetrackers performed in area parades in the fa;l and received a first place in drill section of the Saturday DeKalb County fair parade.
