Mary Clark, Rex Johnson, and Debbie Diederich model the look of winter. LEFT: Fashions rage at GHS as girls model the latest styles. Maxis, Minis, Midis and Burnies ' ' Deck the Halls ' ' r Long hair, bernies, and wire rims topped the fashions for guys; while girls donned shags, wire rims, and chokers . The new dress code bloomed as mini, maxi, and midi skirts, outfitted with peasant blouses, dressed the halls at GHS . The popularity of pantsuits and slacks grew as students and teachers took advantage of the liberal code . Adidas, tank tops, and hot pants sprouted midway through the year at parties and games to end the fashion scene at Garrett. Caps and shades were not uncommon as worn by Sherm Lewis and John Cole.

Senior, Leslie Wise, Scores as Gridiron Queen Red roses and congratulatory kisses were bestowed on Leslie Wise, the 1970 Football Home- coming Queen , The candidates were chosen by the team atid the student body voted , Leslie wore a mustard colored sweater and gloves with a matching plaid skirt, the ap- parel voted on by the candi- dates . The girls were chauf- feured and ushered onto the field by their respective es- corts: Freshmen, Randy Mil- ler and Tom Kleeman, Soph- omores, Frank Caprino and Randy Mcintosh, Juniors, John Fetter and Stan Kinsey, Sen- iors, Harry Lung and Jerry Claxton. There the queen was announced by Linda Custer, Student Council president. The queen and her court viewed the remainder of the South Adams game from a platform which Pep Club decorated with corn stalks and pumpkins . RIGHT: Mike Derickson congratulates the new Football Homecoming Queen. Debbie Diederich, JoEllen Owens, Toni Snook, Queen Leslie Wise, Annette Geiser, Holly Hoeffel, Ramona Miller, Martha Smith. JerryClaxton and Queen Leslie Wise lead the court to the float.

Thespians Present, Annie Sophomore, Polly Creager, plays Annie. On April 30 and May 1, the Garrett Thespian Troup pre- sented a musical comedy en- titled Annie Get Your Gun , under the direction of Mr . Bockman, with Toni Snook as Student Director . Annie is the story of Miss Annie Oakley, the crude backwoods sharp- shooter, portrayed by Polly Creager, who first wins a shooting contest against Frank Butler, the suave champion , played by Dan Miller . Annie goes on to join the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, save the show, marry Frank, and prove that There ' s No Business Like Show Business .
