Language Students Study Culture Being able to speak, understand, read, or write in a foreign lan¬ guage are not the end of the high school language departments. Stu¬ dents of alien tongues also study the customs, geography, and history of foreign lands. Besides learning Latin, German, and Spanish, students also learn to understand English vocabulary and grammar better . Eager Spanish students raise their hands in response to a question. Also, students learn to attain a higher regard for other peoples ' creativity. In the home economic classes students learn to make their own clothing and to improve their cook¬ ing techniques . Through art and home economics students learn satisfying and prac¬ tical skills. Industrious Nancy Lemish learns skills in home economics that will be of benefit to her all of her life.
