Second Semester Finds Everyone Busy Jeff Best enjoys his lunch period at Lillie ' s. Here he pays for a coke and cake, which will give him much- needed energy. Juniors Jeanne Helbert, Lynn Freeman, and Dianne Lash contribute to the class funds by selling cokes at a ball game. The funds are used to fiance the annual Junior- Senior Banquet. After semester break, students seemed to become busier. Co-chair¬ men for Council Capers began working on the annual event. The Student Coun¬ cil devoted most of its meetings to planning the first Little 500 . The Science Club sponsored the an¬ nual local science fair in February. Many projects were entered by all twelve grades to make the fair a suc¬ cess . The Junior class chose Cyndy Brech- bill and Steve Boice as general co- chairmen of the banquet. With a theme chosen and committees formed, the class began hours of work on the event. My Fair Lady was chosen for the 3rd annual all-school production. After the casts were chosen, rehears¬ als were scheduled every evening in Mrs. Buckner ' s room. The main event that seemed to oc¬ cupy everyone ' s mind was basketball. Ending the regular season undefeated, GHSer ' s anticipated a long tournament road ahead. The Thespians and music department presented a community Christmas pageant. Tina Lung poses happily on her throne after she The members of the Homecoming Court were Brenda was crowned 1966 Homecoming Queen at the Sni- Wendell, Karen Myers, and Betsy Sapp, der game. Tina Lung Elected Basketball Queen Reigning this year as basketball queen was Tina Lung. Regal and stately was her appearance on the night of her crowning. Her court of three were acintillating in their formal gowns. This gala evening was the culmination of a campaign to select one of four sen¬ ior girls to succeed last year’s queen. These girls were chosen by members of the varsity basketball team to be can¬ didates for this special honor. The stu¬ dent body, through a popular election, made a final selection. It was during the half-time of the Snider-Garrett game that the new queen was announced. To compliment the grandeur of the evening, the band played majestic music as the queen and her court were escorted onto the floor. Co- captains Craig Gilliland and Steve Smith then presented the dazzling Tina with roses and a royal crown. The ladies took their reserved seats. THIRD ROW: Cindy Carper, Cyndy Brechbill, Phil Heitz, Steve McGrath, Roxanne Isenbarger, Pam Dirr, Dave Clark, and Margo Januseski. “Once Upon a Time,” Theme of Banquet On April 30th, the juniors and seniors entered the world of make- believe and fantasy. The theme of the Banquet was Once Upon A Time . The co-chairmen of the event were Nancy Capin and Tom Stebing. The entertainment was provided by exotic Polynesian dancers and Dick Seeger ' s band played dance music. After the banquet everyone enjoyed the informal all-night party. The remainder of the week-end was spent at the lake. Polynesian dancers provided exotic entertainment at the Banquet. It was enjoyed and excepted by everyone. The senior girls help Cindy Lewis pull her sleeping bag from the lake, at a party after the banquet.
