Convocations, Clothes Concern Us As the,weather got colder, students also became more style-conscious. This year benchwarmers were popular with both boys and girls . In style with the girls were textured hose and the ' ' total” look. The most popular fashion colors with many GHS ' ers this year were maroon and blue. Each year the Student Council presents a Thanksgiving program. The true meaning of Thanksgiving is presented with songs, speeches, and skits. Football season ended and basketball began. We eagerly anticipated a successful season. Mike Jacobs and Kevin Blair kept warm in benchwarmers, which were very popular among the boys this year. Theresa Wheeler gives her study period to work in the office. Taking attendence is one of the duties these girls perform. Ellen Hazeltine, Kathy Shreve, and Nancy Capin were fashion-conscious, as textured hose, shoulder bags, and benchwarmers were in style with the girls. Nancy McKee explains the meaning of Thanks¬ giving in a speech at the special convocation, sponsored by the Student Council.

Mr. Ernest Worthing, Steve Lewis, questions Miss Prism, Tina Lung, about the mystery of the baby in the handbag. Mr. Shelton as director of the play instructs the cast on an important item at dress rehearsal. Class Play Set in The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde was chosen as the Senior Play for this year. It had a cast of nine people and was directed by Mr. Shelton. The play is a satire of Victorian Victorian Society society. The plot of the play is an idealistic situation involving the confusion of the name Ernest and to whom it belonged. The play was presented twice and was well accepted.

Tina Lung poses happily on her throne after she The members of the Homecoming Court were Brenda was crowned 1966 Homecoming Queen at the Sni- Wendell, Karen Myers, and Betsy Sapp, der game. Tina Lung Elected Basketball Queen Reigning this year as basketball queen was Tina Lung. Regal and stately was her appearance on the night of her crowning. Her court of three were acintillating in their formal gowns. This gala evening was the culmination of a campaign to select one of four sen¬ ior girls to succeed last year’s queen. These girls were chosen by members of the varsity basketball team to be can¬ didates for this special honor. The stu¬ dent body, through a popular election, made a final selection. It was during the half-time of the Snider-Garrett game that the new queen was announced. To compliment the grandeur of the evening, the band played majestic music as the queen and her court were escorted onto the floor. Co- captains Craig Gilliland and Steve Smith then presented the dazzling Tina with roses and a royal crown. The ladies took their reserved seats.
