IN MEMORIAM GLORI E WEbLhY HORIN This page is dedicated to the memory of George VVesley Horn, member of the senior class of 1956. George was the only son of Mr. and Mrs, G. H. Horn. R. R. 3 of Garnett. He was born in Pueblo, Colorado. January 10. 1938. The family has lived in the Garnett Community since their arrival here in 1940. He attend- ed grade school at Mont Ida and high school at Garnett. Dllling' his high school years, George was active in vocational agri- vulture and football. He will long he remembered by his classmates as :i true friend who was always willing :ind ready to help others. SOUNDS OI THE FARM nThe poem below was written by George when he was a freshman and was published in the annual of 1953i The sounds of the farm Are the ones 1 like to hear. The muted roar of the tractor Preparing the earth for our livelihood, The gentle talk of the cows Reassuring their young. The sweet music of the birds Conducting their private orchestra.
