It prints all news articles which it feels to be of interest to the' entire school, besides encouraging student participation in the paper by providing aneditorial page for personal comment on controversial issues. Gavel Club Originally organized as a debating club, the Gavel Club program now includes extemporaneous speaking, oral inter- pretations, acting and related subjects. Proceeds from the club's annual three-act play production pays the expenses of sending members to Wake Forest for the North Carolina Speech Festival. Mrs. Watkins, President Drew Shirley, Miss Adams.
