DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUB PURPOSE This club is an organization of students enrolled in vocational distributive educa- tion class. The purpose of the D.E. Club is to stimulate professional growthg to develop progressive. leadershipg to develop skills in human relationshipsg to create the desire to keep abreast of current developments in business and industryg to encourage high ethical standards in business and industry and to foster a deep feeling of the civic, social and moral responsibilities of busines to society. ACTIVITIES The D.E. Club has been extremely active this year. Some of our club activities include: 1. Sponsored State Fair Booth on Distributive Education. 2. Parents Night. 3. Homecoming Float. 4. Host at Eastern District D.E. Convention. 5. Attended N. C. State DECA Convention in Greensboro. 6. Sales Demonstration Contest sponsored by the Raleigh Sales Executive Club. 7. Wake County Employee-Employer Banquet. MARSHALS To serve as a marshal is quite an honor. The marshals are composed of Juniors with the highest scholastic averages for the first two years in high school. They serve by directing student assemblies and ushering at graduation. The chief marshal is the person with the highest average in his class. BUS DRIVERS Each day an average of 1,750 students are transported to Garner, Auburn, Vance, and Vandora schools by our fleet of 20 buses. The mileage per school year totals ap- proximately 132,000 miles. The drivers, as well as Mr. C. A. Cochrane, supervisor, have done a commendable job this year. 106
