Both girls had been told not to talk to strange men, but you know young girls, it goes in one ear and out the other. On the ship, Emily and Cornelia met several young American boys and two annoying English girls and Emily nearly drowns a man. The last part of the play takes place in the hotel room of a hotel in Paris, B There are escapades with bedbugs and many other things but in spite of all this it ended very happy for both girls.

Dean Cataldo Jim Martindale Gary Formanek Victoria Van Bret rules her family with a maniac's firmness. Her sister Caroline is help- less before her. Her half-brother Rip cannot stand up against her. In a dark room that has not been changed since her father died Victoria goes through her cheerless routine with cruel re- gularity. She is more cruel than ever just now just because Rip is marrying a young lady who is not of his social station, and Victoria senses a threat to the integrity of the Van Bret fortune. How Victoria tortures the bride with studied austerity and finally tries to murder her is the malevolent burden of the play.
