Garner looked fairly good in the first game by holding an extremely strong Eagle Grove team to an eight point margin. The second game we played Northwood, the Conference Champs, and the score was Northwood 12, and Garner O. After that game the Cardinals went into a slump until the highlite of the season when Garner beat Lake Mills by a two touchdown favorite. Lack of size, speed, and experience accounted for Garner usually coming out on the short end of the score, The acting captains for the 1955 season were J' im Martindale and John Smith, both seniors. ff
