VARSETY i i 'i.... I 'i.... 1 'i....-.J Last summer was no real vacation for the Varsity cheerleaders. Their work began immediately after school in preparation for the upcoming football and basketball seasons and for cheerleading camp. The girls headed off to Tennessee Temple Cheerleading Clnic in June, anxiously awaiting to compete against stiff competition. The girls worked hard and by the end of the week, the Varsity cheerleaders had scored well enough to win the 1st place trophy and the Spirit Stick. Rae Beth Ellis was chosen as one of the top ten cheerleaders for that week. A lot of the credit goes to their cheerleading spon- sor, Mrs. Holly Powell, who not only worked with the girls, but became a close friend as well.
