garfield iunior high school berkeleYf California fall, 1953 prEncipaTs message The fall term of 1953 has been, for me, a very busy and pleasant one, and it seems only a short time since the beginning of the school year. The participation of the graduating class in our activ- ity program has been enthusiastic, and the group has maintained satisfactory standards in both scholarship and general cooperation. This is the first full semester we have had the use of our new auditorium, which has made it possible for our student body to see programs presented by our own student organizations, as well as movies of subjects being studied in classes. These presentations have been unusually interesting and enjoyable. I am sure that the terms ahead at the high school will be profitable and interesting to all of you. A. C. Baxter president ' s message We of the fall class, 1953, have enjoyed our three years at Garfield immensely. We are sad to leave, but look forward to the three wonderful years that lie ahead. It is difficult to fully express the gratitude and feelings of the graduating class to our fine faculty and to our principal, Mr. Baxter. Together they have given generously of their time and effort so that we may be better prepared for High School and our future life. Since our teachers have given us so much we are con- fident that we can continue our scholarship record at Berkeley High. On behalf of the High Nine class I would like to say to our faculty, " thank you for your help and guidance.
