ASSISTANT! S Library Assistants Cards, kept in order in the library by the ace assistants, who put their hearts in their work, are no jokers. Office Assistants Socorro! Servate! idez! Whatever language it is in, it still means Help! and Help is what the office assistants are majoring in. Locker Assistants Forget your locker combination? Well, the locker assistants have certainly been " Sure- lock-homes " . Nurse ' s Assistants Most likely, without the help of her assistants, the nurse might have needed the medical atten- tion which she so willingly hands out. Student Leaders How have Student Leaders struck you this term? Well, if they have, that ' s going too far, but they have kept order in the hall and have been very efficient. Counselor ' s Assistants Fire! The counselor ' s assistants have been working as if they were going to a fire — so quick and energetic. Flag Raising Committee Going Up? The flag raising committee has been very cooperative in raising the flag every morning before school and carrying the Ameri- can flag in patriotic assemblies. JUNIOR POLICE Garfield may have one of the smallest platoons of B. J. T. P. (Berkeley Junior Traffic Police) in Berkeley, but it ' s the quality and not the quan- tity that counts. For the past months Garfield ' s patrol has improved considerably under cap- able leaders. If this keeps up Garfield will pro- duce an even better patrol of which it can well be proud. Miss Patton: " Mary, what important event took place in 1732? " Mary Brown: " George Washington was born. " Miss Patton: " Correct. Henry Smits, what happened in 1742? " Henry: " George W. was ten years old. " Mrs. Helmke: " Dear, I am sure I heard a mouse squeak. " Mr. Helmke: " Well, do you want me to get up and oil it? " 1. Flag Raising Officers 2.
